'Homemade is Best' by Ikea

Who would have thought that the publisher of one of the most visually inventive baking cookbooks, would be none other than Ikea?! ?!

Styled by Evelina Bratell and photographed by Carl Kleiner, Homemade is Best features pristine arrangements that focus on ingredients rather than the finished cake or biscuit. Inspired by high fashion and Japanese minimalism, the resulting images are an abstract, almost, visual feast!

A stack more images from Homemade is Best can be found here.

Homemade is Best is free in the kitchen section of select Ikea stores in Sweden. (Boo hoo!)

  1. How great are the images! More than likely, I would have not seen this book unless you blogged about it! I will be having a look and getting myself a copy!

  2. Cool images, making me wanna go cook something right now!:D

  3. these are so cool, i need to check this out :)

  4. The pictures look really very Japanese, but so look. Interesting that all the pictures have divided the butter up. I often think when I'm baking "wow, there's a lot of butter in this" and wonder if I would have made it if I had known previously.

  5. I adore that book...Those images are amazing:)
    Happy Monday,sweetie
