The days run away like wild horses over the hills
- Charles Bukowski
Last week I came across the idea of keeping a journal that only ever includes one sentence about each day. The thing that I love about this, is that it makes you think in broad brushstrokes. It also makes you remember the fleeting details that make a day perfect - like this moment on our morning walk.
So, today I bought a crisp, fresh notebook and I'm going to try and rein in some of the 'wild horses'...
This is a lovely idea!

ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful idea to me !!!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea.. I am always stumbling across inspiring or thought provoking quotes and then later trying to piece them together in my mind and wishing I had written them down. I think I might have to do this too!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote! I think U2 nicked it for a song too ;)
ReplyDeleteI also have a journal of one sentence per day but I use it mostly for artistic inspiration. This quote is so deep and profound and yet playful in a real way. That picture is so beautifully taken. Happy Monday;-)
ReplyDeletegreat idea. sounds a bit hard. love to know how this is going... see you in a few days : ) x
ReplyDeleteHere's a little update for you - after almost two weeks I'm still sticking to my grand plan! Yes Evie, it can sometimes be a bit tricky to reduce your day to one sentence but it really does make me be more mindful of the little things. I'll definitely keep going and can't recommend it enough! Go on, give it a go!
