Excuse me, but I'm a little bit star struck!
I've long been a huge fan of illustrator/artist, Stina Persson. Her dripping watercolours are sensual, feminine and sumptuous.
Big corporate clients like Coca Cola, Absolut Vodka, Face Boutique and Bloomingdale's regularly commission her work. Her illustrations also frequently grace the pages of mags such as Harper's Baazar, Elle UK and Marie Claire.
So, you can imagine how giddy I was when Stina generous shared some of her time...especially as she is about to open her next solo show, Perfectly Flawed, later this week:
I’m inspired by...the 50's, 60's and 70's. My friends Sara Singh, Cecilia Carlstedt and Tina Berning- all illustrators and all great. Nature, and the seasons. My family.
I’m currently working on...finishing the very last things for my show Perfectly Flawed opening September 9th at Gallery Hanahou in New York.
Watercolour is...a love-hate relationship. It is always on the verge of kitsch and corny. But for colors and lightness, there is nothing like it.
My big break came when...I joined the agency CWC in New York and Tokyo.
I admire...my sister who had a baby yesterday!

I’m happiest when...I'm in the countryside with my children. Or when my work is turning out the way I want it to!
My best decision has been...to rent a big studio and share it with fellow illustrators.
People are often surprised to discover that I...am a mother of three boys.
Every day I...drink coffee from the Chilean coffee shop across the street, listen to BBC and eat ginger cookies.
I’m reading...The Lady in the Lake by Raymond Chandler.
Stina's next solo show, Perfectly Flawed, runs from 9 Sept - 1 Oct at Gallery Hanahou.
611 Broadway, Suite 730, New York.
